Sunny Days In Marina Del Rey
THE AREA BOASTS A RICH HISTORY AND OFFERS A DIVERSE RANGE OF ATTRACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES FOR RESIDENTS AND VISITORS ALIKE.
Marina del Rey might make you think of WASPY dads in boat shoes and polos, yacht clubs (there are at least five within a two-mile radius), and Gelson’s junkies pushing $2,000 strollers, and that’s all valid. But this bustling seaside community is so much more, and possibly one of the most beautiful and thriving neighborhoods in Los Angeles. The area boasts a rich history and offers a diverse range of attractions and activities for residents and visitors alike. Whether you are looking for a relaxing day at the beach, an adventurous boating experience, a bird-watching escapade, or a night out on the town, Marina del Rey has something for everyone.
One of the main draws of Marina del Rey, of course, is its stunning marina, the largest man-made small craft harbor in the world. The marina features over 5,000 boat slips, making it a popular destination for boaters, sailors, and water enthusiasts. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll along the harbor, watch boats come and go, or rent a kayak, paddleboard, or electric boat for a more hands-on experience.
Visit the Marina del Rey Farmer’s Market! This weekly market is held every Saturday from 9AM – 2PM and offers a vibrant gathering of local farmers, artisans, and food vendors, providing the community with fresh, sustainably-sourced produce and handmade goods. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the marina, this bustling market is a must-visit destination for wholesome food, unique crafts, and a lively atmosphere.
For those who enjoy outdoor activities, Marina del Rey offers an abundance of parks, playgrounds, and bike paths. Burton Chace Park, located on the waterfront, is a popular spot for picnicking, sunbathing, and bird-watching. The park features stunning views of the marina and the surrounding areas, making it a great place to spend a relaxing day in the sun.
Finally, Marina del Rey is known for its lively nightlife scene, offering a range of bars, restaurants, and entertainment options for all ages. Whether you are in the mood for a delicious meal, a fun night out with friends, or a romantic date, Marina del Rey has a variety of options to choose from. From intimate wine bars to lively sports pubs, the community offers a diverse range of dining and entertainment options to suit every taste and budget.
Restaurant Recs

The menu features fresh seafood and traditional American dishes with a coastal influence, along with a selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. Although they are known for their seafood, 26 BEACH is also a great brunch spot.
The Beachside Bar & Restaurant is an on-site dining option at the Jamaica Bay Inn. It offers a picturesque oceanfront setting and serves a menu of fresh seafood, classic American dishes, and handcrafted cocktails, perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. Try the ten-course chef’s choice brunch. It’s unforgettable!

Cast & Plow is a fine dining restaurant located within the Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey. Play “Pick Your Favorite Yacht,” (the game we created based on the view from the restaurant.) The menu features contemporary and seasonal farm-to-table cuisine inspired by the local Southern California coastal harvest, with a focus on sustainable and locally sourced ingredients. Cast & Plow offers a sophisticated and refined dining experience in a relaxed and elegant atmosphere. Excellent vegetarian options and an excellent burger.

Oh, the sweet, buttery taste of fresh fish, cleansed with a swig of sake. Hungry? Order the “Nozawa Trust Me,” the largest Omakase option, with some more “prime” selections of fish. Not so hungry? Opt for the “Trust Me Lite.” It’s sort of a baby fish, mama fish, papa fish situation– with the middle option being the regular “Trust Me.” Whatever you do, just make sure you order the albacore belly and toro. None of the “Trust Me” options will disappoint; trust us.
If there’s a line, don’t worry. It moves pretty quickly and it’s 100% worth it. Owned by Sugarfish’s famous Sushi Nozawa Group, you can get the same quality of fish at Kazunori that you do at Sugarfish, but there’s just one catch (ha, just fishing for puns here): Kazunori is strictly a hand roll bar. It’s the first restaurant of its kind. Its minimal menu consists of a variety of just-made hand rolls made with crispy nori, warm rice, and delectable fish (or veggie options).
Capital Grille, Maestro’s, and Ruth’s Chris– we all know the classic big three steakhouses. While they all have their strengths (the award for lobster mac goes to Capital Grille), Ruth’s Chris takes the prize for best steak by a landslide. Maybe it’s the sizzling 500° plate that it’s served on or the butter and fresh parsley finish, but no one can beat a Ruth’s Chris steak. Editor’s suggestion: Take yourself on a date, sit your fine self down at the bar, and order the most expensive glass of wine on the menu. There’s a good chance you’ll make friends.
Dear Jane’s: the perfect spot to indulge in culinary love letters, where every dish reads like a page-turner and every course leaves you craving the next chapter. The restaurant enthralls diners with its ever-evolving menu, artfully crafted from locally-sourced, sustainable ingredients that celebrate the rich culinary tapestry of modern American cuisine. Embark on a gastronomic getaway at Dear Jane’s, where each bite feels like a postcard from the palate, whispering sweet nothings to your senses and urging you to savor the moment.
